For Students

Your First Job Starts Here

Learn. Prepare. Get Hired.

HIREDuxbury is where confidence begins. It’s where you shake a hand, write your first resume, and meet people who see your potential. You don’t need experience—just curiosity and initiative.

In one night, you’ll meet dozens of local employers who are ready to hire for part-time, seasonal, and summer roles. From cafés and retail shops to design firms, summer camps, and nonprofits—there’s a place for every interest and personality.

Here’s How It Works

  1. Sign Up. Registration opens each spring for students in grades 9–12. You’ll be able to browse local opportunities, RSVP for the event, and get matched with employers who fit your interests.

  2. Get Ready. DSU hosts free prep sessions to help you build a resume, practice introductions, and learn what professional communication looks like. These workshops are casual, fun, and full of insider tips from employers who’ve been exactly where you are now.

  3. Show Up. At the event, you’ll meet local business owners, ask questions, and get a firsthand look at what it takes to succeed. Don’t worry if you’re nervous—everyone is at first. By the end of the evening, you’ll have new connections, new confidence, and possibly a new job.

In 2025, 85% of students learned new job-readiness skills, and many walked away with their first job or interview invitation. Whether you’re ready to work now or just exploring, HIREDuxbury helps you build confidence that lasts.

“Be humble enough to start anywhere—every job teaches you something.”

What You’ll Gain

  • Confidence in introducing yourself and making a great first impression
  • Practical experience to strengthen future college or job applications
  • Connections with mentors, employers, and peers in your community

  • Skills that go beyond work—professionalism, teamwork, and reliability
