We need dependable, consistent, thoughtful & giving people to help us in the following areas:
Piano Players! We have a beautiful Hardman player piano in our lobby and would love our patients and visitors to be greeted by the beautiful music it makes upon entering our building. We have had such a great response this and look forward to hearing more talent!
Patient Representatives- our Patient reps visit all of our patients to learn about the experience they have had here at BID from the time they are in the ED and throughout their stay.
The Breast Center, located at 45 Home Depot Drive. Volunteers needed to escort patients from the waiting room to the changing room and do some mailings. They need volunteers Monday -Friday, 8-Noon or Noon -4pm.
Floor Volunteer Helper. This is available Monday – Friday, 3-7P. These volunteers will help our patients by offering them water and warm blankets, conversation and when appropriate and directed by staff, reading/playing games with patients. In addition, FVH’s will help our floors and nursing staff by stocking patient care areas/shelves, putting packets together, keeping the blanket warmer full, and delivering and picking up the mail.
Surgical Services and Endoscopy. Both departments need help sanitizing, stripping and preparing beds for our patients, restocking our patient supply areas, blanket warmers, refrigerators and so forth.
Escorts. Our escorts transport patients to their appointments, assist in lab runs, flower deliveries, paper delivery and small errands that come up throughout the day.
Emergency Department. Our ED liaisons assist patients as directed by staff, run errands to the lab/clinics/radiology/medical records, fold linens & provide comfort for our patients and families.
Gift Shop. Enjoy assisting our visitors, staff & patients with purchases, noting low inventory, organizing cards, candy/gifts as well as opening and closing the gift shop. Must be dependable and able to operate cash register.
Pet Therapy. Our Pet Therapy teams travel our lobbies, hallways & patient floors visiting staff and patients in need of a smile! Pet Therapy teams must have pet therapy certifications.
Book Mobile. Volunteer offer books to our patients and engage in conversation.
Clothes Closet. Our volunteers help organize donated clothing items so our staff can easily access them as they are needed by patients.
