Position: Youth Development Program Manager

Duxbury Student Union (DSU) | Duxbury, MA (On Site)
30–35 Hours/Week | School Year + Summer Opportunities
Starting at $25/hour, commensurate with experience

Looking for a career where every day you and your students build life skills?

Do you believe the most important lessons can happen outside the classroom? Are you energized by mentoring youth, creating unforgettable experiences, and helping students discover what they’re capable of? If so, we’d love to meet you.

The Duxbury Student Union (DSU) is seeking an exceptional Program Manager to inspire the next generation of confident, compassionate, and capable young people. This is an opportunity to combine education, creativity, leadership, curriculum design, event planning, community engagement, and youth mentorship into one meaningful career.

DSU is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Duxbury’s Launchpad for Life, helping youth thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and as future leaders. Through after-school programs, vacation and summer camps, special  events like HIREDuxbury, and community service projects, we equip young people with the life skills they’ll carry long after graduation.

Everything we do is guided by four values: Collaboration • Inclusion • Innovation • FUN!

Your Impact

This role is far more than program management & supervision. You’ll be a mentor, coach, curriculum designer, event producer, cheerleader and community builder. One day you’ll teach students how to prepare a meal, interview for a first job, manage money, or solve real-world problems. Next, you might design an innovative camp, coordinate a community-wide career fair, or help a sixth grader feel confident on their first day of middle school. If you love variety, creativity, autonomy, and meaningful relationships, you’ll thrive here!

What You’ll Do

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every student feels known, valued, and supported.

  • Design engaging after-school programs, camps, and events that develop life skills.

  • Support signature programs include HIREDuxbury, 52DMS, 82DHS and Coffee Houses

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, schools, volunteers, businesses, and community partners.

  • Support marketing, fundraising, social media, newsletters, and outreach that expand DSU’s impact.

  • Manage program logistics, budgets, purchasing, documentation, and EEC compliance while helping staff succeed.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

At DSU, you’ll have the freedom to innovate, the support to grow professionally, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on hundreds of young people each year. You’ll join a collaborative team that values fresh ideas, initiative, and community. Every day is different. Every relationship matters. Every experience helps launch a life.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Psychology, Recreation, Social Work, Nonprofit Leadership, or a related field

  • Two or more years of experience in youth development, education, camps, recreation, or nonprofit programming

  • Experience designing curriculum or experiential learning

  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills

  • Experience with Google Workspace, Canva, and social media platforms, especially Instagram.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), successful Background Record Check, and EEC training requirements

  • Teaching experience is valued, but a teaching license is not required.

School Year: Monday-Friday, approximately 11:15/12:15 PM-5:15 PM starting August 25th 2026
Summer: Flexible schedule based on camp programming

Benefits: Starting pay of $25+/hour, flexible summer scheduling, 10 paid holidays, 10 paid vacation days, professional development, and the opportunity to help shape one of the South Shore’s most innovative youth development organizations.

Are you ready to help launch the next generation?

At DSU, we’re not simply running after-school programs, we’re helping young people discover who they are, where they belong, and what they can become. If you’re creative enough to imagine new possibilities, organized enough to make them happen, and adaptable enough to thrive in a fast-paced mission driven environment this is the place for you.

Let’s connect ASAP. Email admin@duxburystudentunion.org with why you’d make an indelible impact at DSU.
